On Monday 11th February GCA’s Dance Academy took part in the annual ‘Wyre and Fylde School Sports Partnership’ dance competition.
The competition took place in the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The venue was absolutely beautiful and it was an experience of a lifetime to dance on the same floor used by ‘Strictly Come Dancing’!
The theme of the event was ‘celebrating diversity’ and during rehearsals we got to see a wide variety of creative dance’s from over 20 schools in the Wyre and Fylde district. Our students were an absolute credit to the school. They supported everyone, made new friends and their positive attitude was infectious. The girls danced a contemporary dance number about the effects of deforestation on tribal communities’. They danced with emotion, passion and heart, I am so proud of them!
We didn’t win but we had a great day and can’t wait to take part again next year.
