This annual 10K race and fun run took place on Sunday 8th January and was a great success with 500 runners taking part.
The race organisers raised £1,600 towards the ‘Pitch In’ fund. GCA staff (and parent Mrs Bass) also raised £350 serving refreshsments and are very grateful to Booths and Sainsbury's who donated bacon, sausages and buns for the event.
Winner of the race was Robert Affleck (Preston Harriers) with a fantastic time of 32 minutes and 24 seconds, while Catherine Howard (Knowsley Harriers) was the fastest woman with a time of 38 minutes and 42 seconds. Well done to everyone who took part in this community event.
Thanks go to Garstang Ladies Hockey Club, the Rotary, the Lions and Mr Holliday who generously gave their time to steward the course and organise the car parking arrangements. Also thanks to Steve Ashcroft, race organiser, and we look forward to next years event!
