The Northern Athletics U17 and U20 Indoor Championships were held at Sheffield Institute of Sport on Saturday 14th and 15th January.
Year 10 GCA student, Jasmine Jolly competed in the U17 girls 60m sprint hurdles event, as one of younger athlete in this group. Jasmine won her heat in 9.08sec with a good run over the hurdles making sure she qualified for the final.
In the final Jasmine got a brilliant start, attacked the first hurdles, sprinted over 5 hurdles cleanly and stopped the clock at 8.90sec - being the only athlete in the final to run sub 9 sec and lead the race from start to finish. Jasmine won the same event in 2016 in the under 15 girls category.
Well done Jasmine for winning gold, what a brilliant start to 2017! Everyone at GCA is very proud of your achievement.
