Letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Guardians
I would like to inform you that I have accepted a temporary part-time secondment as Executive Principal for the Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT). This new role, which begins officially in January 2017, will see me divide my time equally between Garstang Community Academy and Blackpool Aspire Academy as Executive Principal of both schools.
Whilst I am personally excited by this new challenge, I am also proudly loyal to Garstang and keen to ensure that our team’s fabulous work continues in the future. As GCA’s Executive Principal, I will ensure that our great school maintains its unique ethos and current trajectory of excellent student achievement and corporate success. In this endeavour, I am fortunate to be supported by a hugely talented and committed Senior Leadership Team, and I am delighted to inform you that Mr Ashcroft, as the new Principal of GCA, will lead and manage the school on a daily basis with effect from September, with Mr Holliday “stepping up” to the new role of Vice Principal.
I look forward to continuing to work with you over the coming years as your Executive Principal, and I am hugely confident that, together, we will shape Garstang Community Academy into an even greater school, and realise our goal of “excellenceineveryone”.
