On Wednesday 30th September, Garstang Community Academy PE department hosted their Annual Sports Awards Presentation Evening.
The event celebrated the fantastic success of our student’s sporting performances throughout last year. Across all the year groups, boys and girls, the school won 16 sporting honours across district and county competitions.
Trophies and certificates were presented to ‘Team Player of the Year’ as voted for by the players themselves in addition to an award for ‘Teachers’ Player of the Year’. The PE department currently run over 50 clubs and teams and is hoping to add to this extensive programme with the current fund raising efforts for an all-weather pitch at the school.
The awards were presented by Adam Phillips, an ex GCA student who is currently playing for Liverpool FC and England U21’s. “It was a pleasure to have Adam present the Awards and celebrate our fantastic student successes” Miss Rainbow, Head of Girls PE.
