On Wednesday 12th June, Years 7 & 9 went to the Wyre and Fylde Rounders Tournament.

The weather held out and the girls battled through the wind.  The Y9’s made it to the semi-final and narrowly lost out.

It was the first rounders tournament for the year 7’s, lots of nerves but excitement.  First up was the group stages where they played first played Hodgson and beat them 8.5 – 5.  Second they played St Bedes and narrowly lost 6 – 5.  Finally they played Rossall where they shone and beat them 8.5 – 6!

It was semi-final time, we were playing Fleetwood, and what a tense game it was! GCA won by 10.5 – 8.5.

FINAL TIME – we were back playing St Bedes, after a team chat and chant the girls were ready!  Another tense game, with the girls working incredibly hard as a team to support each other. The girls played exceptionally well and won 8 – 6.

Huge well done to the whole team, they have worked incredibly hard to develop their skills.
