This annual 10K race and fun run took place on Sunday 14th January and was a great success with 500 runners taking part.

The race organisers are hoping to have raised £2,500 towards the ‘Pitch In’ fund.  GCA staff and parent volunteers also raised £500 serving refreshsments and are very grateful to Booths and Sainsbury's who donated bacon, sausages and buns for the event.

Winner of the race was Rob Webb (Rossendale Harriers) with a fantastic time of 32 minutes and 20 seconds, while Amanda Crook (Southport Waterloo Athletic Club) was the fastest woman with a time of 35 minutes and 22 seconds.  We also had many students who took part in the two mile fun run, which was won by Luke Rawcliffe with a time of 10 mins and 53 secs  and the first girl was Gracie Scott with a time of 13 mins and 14 secs.  Well done to everyone who took part in this community event.

Thanks go to Garstang Ladies Hockey Club, the Rotary, the Lions, Mr Holliday and parent volunteers who generously gave their time to steward the course and organise the car parking arrangements.  Also thanks to Steve Ashcroft, race organiser, and we look forward to the 2019 event!!
