We had all kinds of exciting events taking place throughout the week to celebrate the 20th World Book Day.

There were quizzes and extra reading during form times and discussions promoting the enjoyment of books and reading.

Murder in the Study Centre!!! - detectives had to solve the clues that lead to the murderer, the weapon used, the time the murder was committed and the name of the detective in charge.

The winner was Harry Saywell (7.4) who was presented with his hamper of books and edible goodies by English teacher Mr Cummings.

We also had a Jumbles Letter quiz where children had to unscramble the letters to form authors and titles.

This time the hamper was won by Ellen Shaw (7.2).

Well done to both our winners!

All students received a World Book Day £1 Book Token and had the opportunity to exchange it for a free book in the Study Centre.  Please see our Book Review blog for further details of the books http://garstangcommunityacademy.com/blog/2017-02-24-11-30-21-world-book-day-2-march-2017
