From the 1st to the 5th February 2016, we celebrated National Storytelling Week in the Study Centre.
Every lunch time, teachers entertained our students with stories covering different genres for all age groups.
Mr Birch began by reading a chapter from ‘Cosmic‘ by Frank Cottrell Boyce, followed by Mr Cummings reading ‘Lamb to the Slaughter‘ by Roald Dahl. Miss Hall read from ‘Darkside‘ by Tom Becker and Mrs Morgan read from ‘Danny the Champion of the World‘ by Roald Dahl. The week ended with Miss Rainbow reciting ‘The Gruffalo‘ and ‘The Stick Man‘ by Julia Donaldson bringing back many happy memories for our younger readers.
This event has been very popular over the years but even more so this year and has helped to encourage reading and discovering new and enjoyable texts recommended by our teachers.
All titles are available from the Study Centre.
