A group of thirty Year 8 students enjoyed a five day trip at the end of the summer term to an activity centre based at Chateau de Warsy, France.  The purpose of the visit was to further develop language skills whilst enjoying a variety of activities structured to encourage team building skills.

The centre was based near Warsy in Northern France and to the delight of the students, the accommodation was in wooden ‘pods’ with bunk beds and a large tepee as a communal space.

Whilst the majority of activities were water based including raft building, paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking – students also enjoyed climbing on low ropes and archery.

Student Kate Whittingham reported on a highlight of the homeward journey: “On the journey home from France we stopped off at a chocolate factory in Beussent.  On leaving the coach we could small the delicious chocolate, it was amazing!  A Frenchman, who spoke excellent English, talked to us about how they made the chocolate and the many different moulds that were used.  At the end of the tour we were given samples to try – they were incredibly delicious!!“

Miss McIntosh, Mr Garbutt and Mrs White would like to thank the group for their exemplary behaviour and can-do attitude on the trip.  The tour company who organised the residential have also complemented the group saying they were a pleasure to be with.

Thank you to the MFL department for all their organising on this visit.
