The new term is well underway, and our Year 11 students are already engaging with exciting opportunities to help shape their future paths.
Every Friday during this first term, our Year 11 assembly slot is dedicated to welcoming a different college, employer, or apprenticeship provider to school. These external speakers deliver tailored sessions about their specific provisions and employment sectors, giving our pupils the vital information they need to make fully informed decisions about their next steps post 16.
To kick off this enriching series, last week’s assembly was delivered by the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge (ASK) Programme, introducing students to the fantastic world of apprenticeships, career pathways, and the diverse opportunities available to them after Year 11 and beyond.
Spark a Conversation at Home Why not ask your Year 11 child what the topic or speaker was about this week? It's a great way to spark an engaging careers conversation at home and find out what has caught their interest.
Planning for the Future: Open Days As students begin exploring their options, we strongly recommend that pupils attend a variety of college and sixth-form open days to get a true feel for different environments. To help you plan, we have put together a comprehensive open days calendar which has been sent home to all year 10 and 11 parents and carers. You can also find a digital copy available to view on the careers section of our school website.
