Organised by the UHMBT NHS Careers & Apprenticeships Team, the event offered students a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of careers within the Health and Social Care sector, both clinical and non-clinical. Held onsite at the hospital’s Education Centre, the full-day programme included:
- A guided tour of the hospital site
- Interactive sessions with NHS professionals across multiple disciplines
- Hands-on taster activities
- A certificate of participation to support future applications to sixth form, college, or university
Sophie and Madison represented the school with enthusiasm and curiosity, engaging fully with the activities and gaining valuable insight into the world of healthcare.
Madison: "The day was incredibly inspiring. Getting to speak with NHS staff from so many different roles really opened my eyes to the variety of careers available in healthcare. It was fun, hands-on, and gave me a real sense of what working in the NHS could be like."
Sophie: "I loved how interactive everything was—from trying out medical equipment to hearing personal career journeys from professionals. It made me even more excited about pursuing a future in health and social care."
We are grateful to the UKMBT NHS Careers Team for offering this opportunity and look forward to supporting more students in exploring careers in the health sector.
