Our sports day was held on Thursday 6th July – Miss Shepherd ordered the weather and WOW she got what she ordered.
During the morning, the students from Years 7-9 came onto the field to complete their field events - with great success! There were many amazing performances, with students giving their all to achieve points for their form teams. The most students to date took part in the 1500m.
All the form groups had put in so much effort, wearing the colours of their countries they were representing and waving flags and decorations. Mr Kidd was DJ and played a variety of songs as everyone marched onto the field chanting and singing, really getting into the spirit of our sports day. All pupils got involved from the offset – even the teachers got up dancing. A little bit of ‘cha cha slide’ is always a favourite.
The sprints and relays took place after lunch - and what an eventful afternoon it was!!!
Miss Shepherd spoke to a few year 7’s after sports day and they all agreed it was an amazing day!!
The winners were: Year 7 - Form 7.5, Year 8 - Form 8.5 and Year 9 - Form 9.2.
A huge well done to everyone from the PE Department. Thank you to everyone who helped with the organisation and running of the event.
